CUltimate is arranging for a new "Conference 1", which essentially would replace the UPA's college series for some of the elite teams, including Wisconsin should they choose to be part of the system. Not sure what any of you think, read http://cultimate.com/conference1/ for details and you can go to rsd for additional perspectives and speculation. As this could significantly effect the program I think that we should at least provide some opinion to those that will be making the decision for the team possibly for the foreseeable future.

As an alumni (that's scary to say), I think the Hodags should seriously consider this C1 proposal and perhaps decide to pave the way for the development of college ultimate. The format sounds sick, but the eligibility process sounds shady. I think C1 and the UPA need to work together to revamp college ultimate. The world of college ultimate rests squarely in Jimmy Foster's hands!

Hate to say it - but I agree with Muffin. I think the concept is great for many reasons - but I would have serious doubts about the implementation - without any facts to support my gut feeling - I just don't have confidence that these guys have the details nailed down. Do this year's seniors really want to risk squandering their last season if this doesn't get pulled off correctly (which seems like a high probability)?
I think the teams involved owe it to the UPA and other teams left behind to let the UPA respond and if teams desire this format - push the UPA to implement it instead. The main flaw is that the plan should address the whole college scene.

What exactly is Cultimate offering the top 25 teams? What does C1 offer the elite teams?
Is the answer something like... "Glory"? Because, if it is, offering an ultimate player glory is like offering a physician free medicines to treat his patients. And believe me when I say that big pharma is corrupt as fuck, and detrimental to the practice of medicine.
Once again, what is C1 offering?
